Topic: B-10 transaxle

I was wondering if a transaxle from a allis chalmers B-10 mower is ok to use for pulling?
I alreadt pulled 800lbs in my backyard before the belt started slipping
it is a 3 speed will it hold up?

Hi,  I seen these tractors pull for a number of years and they will pull well.
The weight classes that I seen them pull in was 800-1200# class this is tractor and driver
combined weight and this was in Stock and Prostock classes, sounds like you need to do some belt work
to keep it from slipping I,ve use belt dressing in some cases but it could be a wrong belt or clutch
mech. that could be causing this. Put it this way I never seen one totaly break down in the classes I mentioned.

yeah i need a new belt thats why it slips the belt is 20 yrs old lol

New belt and a stiffer return spring on the clutch and you should be fine.   You may be out-gunned by some IH Cadets out there, but other than that it will hold its own.
