This was the winter project. Well part of the winter!



Seems like I get them started but.....
Will see what happens.
Had a lot of welding practice on this one!

Don't weld too much. Bolt everything you can on. These frames are too stiff to start with.

No it is all bolted as original! There were just a lot of holes rusted through in the foot rests and I cut the spotwelds on the fender insert piece sandblasted it used weldthrough primer and welded it back together. It was pretty rusted too. Had to replace a couple of nuts too that were welded on the braces for the foot rests.

actually gonna do the front axle for this are there any bolt on axles available for the cub or should i build it from scratch? any recommendations on front wheels and tires? spindles etc

I was searching the parts breakdown for the transmission and came upon partstree.com but there are many parts not available there. Specifically the bearing assembly, countershaft rear roller. I have no idea what shape the transmission is in but I would like to know the best place to source the parts before I tear into it. Are there any rebuild kits available for these transmissions other than the gear sets and such that are available. I am thinking that I want to just build it up stock for now.

I bet you can just take the #s off the bearings and go to a bearing
supply company- those old tractors didn't use anything special for the
most part. Seals are available at any auto parts store, use goop
for gaskets.
