Update everyone
found an old briggs carb, ran it through the bandsaw, and presto. Instant Intake Flange.
Then welded up with a 1.5" pipe, 1.5" long. Ran a 'moose' intake hose from intake to carberutor. and everything seems to work out fine. This is on a 12.5 with billet wheel, and a TroyCityGarage cam. Before, when ran with a stock carberutor, and was pinned, it felt as it wanted more. Now when ran pin, its all there baby :maxevil:
will update with pictures tomorow

reminds me of the good ol' days back at shop class
the best way is how i did it a while back
run the bike engine to a peerless 700 OUTPUT side
and run the other output side

woah, sorry to start all this arguments
but the original question was "is an exhaust flange the same size as a intake flange?"
sorry for all the confusion

Briggs Flathead / Intake questions
« on: December 22, 2007, 10:01:47 pm »
Hey guys, quick questions and some ideas
are the sizes for exhaust flanges the same as intake flanges
my quad doesnt run a metal intake, rather its a rubber hose with clamps on each end
i was wondering if i could run a dirtbike carberutor on my briggs, using the same rubber hose but with a custom intake mount using an exhaust flange and piping.
thanks for any responses

Any boring or rejetting of your carberutor will not get you any performace gains that you will feel. If your running a aftermarket cam, then you need an aftermarket carb. If you really want it done, send it to Don or George.

Just out of curiosity, what made you decide to reinforce the frame lower instead flush with the top bendings?

All must remember, shaving the head does raise compression, but reduces flow. Before you even shave the heads, do you have an aftermarket starter to turn those high compressions? And for the second half. Hint: Playdough
