Very little seems to happen here on this 'other engines' forum.  I think those engines look a bit like the 'powermore' engine I have in my Cub Cadet which I posted about.

Hi there,

First time posting on here so hopefully I'm in the right place ect...

I've got a couple of questions.  I'm not a racer... but I think you guys would be able to help more than anyone else.

Is this a 'Powermore' unit?

Second question.  It seems like it was drastically detuned, possibly for the EU compliance.  I don't think a 679cc V-twin should ever struggle but I feel sometimes it does.  It can stall if you try to cut especially long grass too quickly.

It seems like the throttle lever has limited movement, it only moves about 1/4 of the way up the range of movement.  I've looked at the other end where the throttle cable connects at the front of the engine and it seems as though it couldn't move any further even if the throttle lever was able to move further so maybe the whole restriction is at the throttle body.

So I welcome all opinions / advice.  I'm not looking for a fire breathing thoroughbred racer.  I'm just a little bit unhappy about the idea of having bought the biggest engine but not being allowed to use it because of nanny state.

Thanks for allowing me to join, although I'm a bit past it when it comes to enjoying fast slow things, I still enjoy (am addicted to) building weird engine combinations 1,2 4 & the latest,& biggest, a 500cc eight cylinder I guess would be outside any mower race club regulations,,
  I joined to get some information on the Peerless 1000 series right angle drives, eg, how much abuse they can take, & what will fail 1st.

We had an extended power outage the other day and the forum software version decided it no longer liked the database version.  I have been sick with Covid and just didn't have the energy to put to this until today, so sorry for the outage.  It does not appear that the database was harmed, so nothing should be missing.  Let me know if you find anything strange.  Also, there may be some features missing that I have to reconstruct but the meat is available.

Vertical shaft or horizontal shaft engine? If it?s horizontal I guess you could have a belt clutch to a jackshaft and then chain to your rear axle? If it?s vertical use a belt clutch normally like a mower would have to your gearbox then chain to rear axle? What ideas did you have? What do the other racers do?

Since I hooked up my foot throttle on my briggs intek v twin I been trying to get the best out of it and had troubles. Hooked it up to the govener arm and put a spring in the govener arm to pull it back to idle position  I cleaned the carb and reset the govener and seems to sound great. A little hesitation at low rpm but not bad and don't seem to over Rev and in the process I was trying to find pictures of how anyone has there's hooked up running v-twin inteks but had no luck but also came across different intake manifolds with single barrel carbs that I never knew about. So I'm wondering what they came on and if anyone has opinions on if singles are better one the inteks or if double barrel carbs are the way to go.  And if anyone tried putting a pit bike carb on a single and had the linkage some how hook to the govener and then to foot throttle and if there were any success in it.  Sorry for the long  paragraph  and I will take pictures in the morning before work of how I did my setup
