Briggs OHV & Vanguard / Economical alternative to a billet flywheel?
« on: December 26, 2008, 01:31:52 pm »
Dont get me wrong... Those ARC flywheels are top notch, and I have actually purchased one for my last racer a few years ago.... But now, with two kids, and more bills, I just cant swing 500 bucks for the kit, and still aford to build the rest of the mower....
Is there any other way  to make a lightened safe racing flywheel?

I searched and couldnt find a definite answer...
Is it simply a bigger bore?
I have a 40 cube and want to know what it would take to make it more cubes.....

Briggs OHV & Vanguard / Whats the new HOT engine available now???
« on: June 03, 2007, 10:16:45 am »
i dont run in a very regulated league, so as long as its a mower engine, its good.... Right now i have a 40cube intec v-twin with a few goodies on it. i have a 44 cube intec v-twin sitting in the garage waiting to be built.....

what else is out there, and is there something bigger yet?? ( and NOT super heavy, i.e. BIG BLOCK intecs)

Chassis / i know its been asked before about front ends....
« on: December 08, 2006, 01:30:08 am »
So im going tomorrow to 'officialy' start my build, and im going to put my front end together.

how does this sound, im going to put in only about 3 or 4 degrees of camber, 10 degrees caster, then make my spindle perfectly level to put the most amount of tire on the ground. i think this combo will be about the best bet with having to turn both ways, both on dirt, and on the street.

Any sugestions otherwise?

This one is my buddy dustin overtaking hid dad in the last race. his dad is on my old mower that he completely rebuilt, with aa 14hp vanguard twin and a 700, and dustin is on one his uncle built, i believe hes got a 12hp flathead or some bigger flathead briggs and a 700 on it.
the other people are Chadron racers, they dont talk to us much, so i dont know anything about them.

This one is of some crazy guys from Colorado! 4 of them showed up, two snowmobile based, and two motorcycle based. The one guy had a v65 honda magna on an otherwise stock mtd chassi, and he ate poop in his first lap. the other guy has a 600 sportbike enigne on it, and was pretty much a quad. the snowmobiles had a hard time recovering out of the corners.
Listen to that black 600 overtake the snowmobile one!

« on: December 01, 2006, 10:08:34 pm »
Ok, guys, i found another mower that i think im gonna put my 44 cube intek and 700 tranny. I want the short wheelbase, and as light as i can get it, and i could get this mower in my pickup by myself, where as the MTD i couldnt!
i have no ideah what year or anything else about it except its got a one speed peerless gear box, it had a 6hp techumseh engine, and that it says craftsman on the hood!

So which one should i build?!?!?

Driveline / race prepped tranny worth?
« on: July 28, 2006, 03:08:47 pm »
i ahve 4 or 5 700's running condition, also on top of those i have 3 that i have 'race prepped' down to the letter in georges instructions....

including the steel bevel gears, new 4 key shift keys, new brass, new needle bearing, oil seal, and a pint of amsoil gear oil ready to go in.

i have been asked to sell one of these race prepped ones, and i want to know what they are worth. i have about 150 bucks into it... i know its worth more them that, if a take off stocker is going for 125 on egay...
