Hey George H. or someone that knows this.

Using plastigage what should the clearance be on the connecting rod at the crank shaft journal

This is using stock Briggs parts (Model: 31D777 Type: 0235E1 Code: 030327ZE)

Is it .002 but shoot for .003 clearance,  just like on the ARC rod as seen here:

Hey George H. or anyone that knows this for sure

Will the Briggs 808726 Starter NIPP. W solenoid work with the stock fly wheel on the Briggs 12hp 28 engine or does this starter only work with the ARC billet fly wheels

Hi George Herrin or someone who knows this for sure.

Is 100 ft. Lbs. the correct Torque specs for the Billet Aluminum Flywheel for the 12hp 28 engine?

Also is it safe to hold the crank from the bottom of the engine while tightening the Billet Aluminum Flywheel on? If not does anyone know if Briggs Flywheel Holder Tool 19321 or 19372 will work?

Chassis / Steering Wheel Handle Bars Ends
« on: January 07, 2007, 07:05:09 pm »
Some racers have a steering wheel with handle bar ends on them? Are they using a bolt on Handle bar End or are they welded on. The problem with welding is most Kart wheels are made of Aluminum. If they are bolt on, any one know where to get them?

Tires / Aluminum Split Rims (Rim Halves for Karts)
« on: January 03, 2007, 11:50:20 am »
Has anyone tried using the Aluminum Split Rims (Rim Halves for Karts)? I am wondering if they will hold up for Lawn Mower Racing. I am guessing the good thing about them is that they must be easy to mount tires on them. I see Arc Racing sells them as well.

Briggs Flathead / Gas Tank Location when Using a Fuel Pump
« on: May 20, 2006, 10:11:23 am »
When using a vacuum pulse fuel pump on a Briggs 12hp engine, does the gas tank still need to be mounted higher than the carb or does the pump have enough power to pump it uphill if the tank is mounted lower than the carb on the chassis?

I am using Briggs Fuel Pump Part number# 808656

I see there are two different starters and Don G. has them on his web site

Starter HD W/O solenoid Part# 499521
Starter HD Nippendenso With solenoid Part# 808726

Is the HD W/O solenoid Part# 499521 just as strong as the HD Nippendenso with solenoid Part# 808726 and do both work with a stock Briggs 12hp flywheel?

Does this work?
