Post Your Video / Uslmra action in Brooklyn, CT
« on: September 03, 2016, 08:42:47 pm »
Hey guys, here's some local chapter uslmra racing. We race with the NELMRA (new england lawn mower racing association). Our tracks may be smaller than lots of the other ones i see on here but we definitely make the most of it and have lots of fun! I was only able to get AP, SP, and BP but we also have IMOW, CP, FTX and dont forget about stock lol.

Chassis / Re: truck arm rear axle

You cant blame him for trying to think outside the box hahaha.  I dont want to start a big argument but how this is any different from Mikes over complicated "A-arm" type front end?  They are both solid after adjustment...

Well the idea behind my front end was quick incremental adjustments that could be made without putting a jack stand under the front end. You may have noticed that i went with a more simple design to keep the time and money down on my bp build. As far as the original post i always thought panhard bars or track bars were used to do something to suspension geometry during suspension travel?

USLMRA Races / Re: 2011 USLMRA RULE BOOK FINAL DRAFT...REALLY!
« on: October 09, 2010, 03:41:13 pm »
I'm confused with the wording on aluminum flywheels. I dont understand if they are mandatory to replace stock unmodified flywheels or what. Under the prepared class section it just says they "are allowed". Section Y-a. of the rule book under GENERAL MOWER REQUIREMENTS also confuses me because it appears to contradict  section Y-b. All i would like to know is if it is mandatory to put a billet aluminum flywheel on a stock unmodified motor racing in ap,sp,cp or bp.

 Thank you Mike B

Briggs Flathead / 28 valve guides
« on: August 31, 2010, 10:42:13 pm »
I have a model 28 flathead and the intake valve guide is worn out. My question is did all the 28 motors have replacable valve guides for the intake. I can see where the guide is on the exhaust but the intake looks like its just a bore in the aluminum. I dont know the model number because ive switched the shroud out but im pretty sure it was a very late model year. I think the code even started with 06. Also if the motor dosnt have a replacable guide could a shop just machine one in?

  thanks

Briggs OHV & Vanguard / Re: 30ci vanny carb issues
« on: August 11, 2010, 09:50:21 am »
I think i have the problem resoved. I found out the emulsion tube was not getting screwed in all the way so i chased the threads out with a tap and used an older walbro with a idle mixture needle. I think me not being used to a twin cylinders sound and being in a garage made it sound like it was reving higher that it actualy was also trew me off a little.

   Thanks

Briggs OHV & Vanguard / 30ci vanny carb issues
« on: August 10, 2010, 01:25:12 pm »
I have a stock 16 hp vanguard vtwin that i adapted a walbro 56 lmt carb to. I got a carb off a 5 year old craftsman and i cant get the motor to run. It will only run for a burst at full choke with my fingers covering the intake. I checked everthing i could think of on the carb even switched out emulsion tubes. It does not seem to matter how rich or lean i have the mixture. After putting together another walbro from parts lying around same exact thing. Finally i took the walbro of my sp and the motor ran fine. I loosend up the bowl nut and the bowl always is full of fuel. I guess i can try the putting it on my sp but its a fully built motor and hate just turning that thing over all day( still scared of ruining another ring gear or shear key due to back fire).

Any ideas are appreciated

Mike B
