Thanks, I did find the topic on the WOO board after. Just waiting for my account to be approved to post on the WOO forum.  Need to find the address to the Stonehouse Mower Speedway.

George looks like Rod gave you one of our Oeltra shirts from the picture of you sitting on the race machine.

So George if you come to Canada to race Ryan I may want to take in that race depending on when and where the race is. Oeltra and Woo races can be very far apart.

George Herrin is right. After all Rod was the 2007 Super Mod Point champ for the year.

Hey George H. or someone that knows this.

Using plastigage what should the clearance be on the connecting rod at the crank shaft journal

This is using stock Briggs parts (Model: 31D777 Type: 0235E1 Code: 030327ZE)

Is it .002 but shoot for .003 clearance,  just like on the ARC rod as seen here:

Hey George H. or anyone that knows this for sure

Will the Briggs 808726 Starter NIPP. W solenoid work with the stock fly wheel on the Briggs 12hp 28 engine or does this starter only work with the ARC billet fly wheels

If it was a race I would have lapped everyone there on the track    :3gears:

I had to slow down to keep every one in the group

Hey I had to win some where because I was not going to win against those special v-twin motors on the smaller dirt track  :omg:

I like to stir the pot as well  :woo:

Sorry, I do not have any more race video, but if someone gives me footage from the other races I can post it.

It was great meeting you Ryan.

Thanks Rocky, now I feel better  8)

I loved the oval track, I was very surprised that I could turn with no problem with the locked up transaxle.

I run an 820-017 and race in 3rd gear, so this was a first in 5th gear.

It was fun for me to out run the big twins with my little 12hp motor.  ;)

I was amazed how steady and smooth my machine ran at the higher speeds.

I wish someone had the radar gun out to see how fast I was going on a few of the sprints.

So what about my race Rocky, no nice win for me?

I use a 820-017 on my machine.

Shop around for parts. The price varies from place to place. You should be able to buy the parts from a dealer that sells Tecumseh / Peerless Parts.

I bought my parts from:
http://www.outdoordistributors.com/peerless/peerless.html

Here is a diagram of the 820-017
http://www.odref.com/peerless/820-SERIES/820-820-017.PDF

Below is a list of parts needed.

776318- Output shaft
778274- Spur gear - Axle Gear 27T
778275- Spur gear - Spur Gear 19T
778276- Spur gear - Output Gear 31T
778277- Spur gear - Supr Gear 19T
786148- Spacer

I did not use the parts below but some people say you need them.
792114 WOODRUFF KEY
792113 RET RING

You also need a axle. I believe most people use a kart axle with a spot for a woodruff key.  I am not sure that a standard kart axle has the correct keyed area for this woodruff key.

I did not use a kart axle, instead I used a steel keyed shaft and made spacers from a steel pipe with a 1 inch bore and washers on each side of the pipe. This was used to hold the final gear in the correct postion and hold the key in the final gear. Filled with synthetic gear oil. Sealed the whole transaxle and keyway of the shaft so oil did not run down the keyway.

I took the reverse chain out because I hear they do not hold up.

I changed the oil after the season because the shaft was worn a small bit where it went through the bearings in the transaxle. I believe the bearings are hardend steel and the keyed shaft is not.

I use the screw off cap on top to fill with oil when ever necessary.  I check the oil level with a Alan key through this spot.

Here is a link that I spoke about what I did when I used a 3/4 axle. Also I think http://www.acmemowersports.com makes a 3/4 inch adapter for the brake setup if you are using a transaxle with a 3/4 inch shaft.
