If you do not get an SFI rated flywheel made, you are flirting with disaster.
Do yall not realize, if you go with a national rules package, you can run
with insurance for your races? Innovation is the backbone of racing,
but which one of you will take financial responsibility for a failure?

Are you saying you would take the 700 over the 1000? I didn't think that Vanguard made that kind of power :D :P
Where is Fong when I need him

I would take the 700 in a prepared chassis. 49CI inteks and etc, have said,
I know you are running a 38CI Vanny... Nope, just a 35CI one. Hope that
made them feel better. I do have a 38 CI, that I want to assemble for
one more run at a title.

Perrless 700 with 70 HP and a bit more. You won't go wrong.
Just make sure you have an 8 inch gear on the motor, and a
5 inch on the input shaft of the tranny. Final drive on the output
of the tranny, and live axle gear. Just make sure it is the steel gears,
or you will break them. There is a file in drive section with all the
steel gear option 700 transmissions.

If 17 HP is the max HP, I would try to find a 31CI motor.
They are out there, and that would be a better one to freshen as well.

Tires / Re: Turf Tires vs Racing Tires

You hit another nail on the head, a flat track will make a driver out of you. A banked track is nice don't get me wrong but oh how I love a flat track.

Oh, I think a banked track sprinkled in is a treat as well. A person needs to race all styles of tracks
to experience what a mower can do, or not do. Rooster used to love him a paperclip track.

Mower tires teach a person how to race. If the tires have natural traction, you will only learn so much.
Just like racing on a flat track. If you never have to lift, and everything makes the corner without any
effort, all the classes look the same as far as speed. Mower tires and flat tracks make the best racing.
When it is time for the Pro classes, then let the dogs eat. Just my  :twocents:.

Hi

This is what I was thinking about trying

https://www.ebay.com/itm/185057458943

Clames to be better construction

Has anyone had experience with these??

They do not appear to be performance rods.
To me they are just a cast rod.

Richard

not sure my application really needs the upgrade as the output axle shafts will only be used to drive sprockets to drive chains forward
to the rear swing axles.

so the transaxle will not be carrying any weight

Any bearing you add to any axle will be free horsepower.

Quote
however, if i find it necessary to open the transaxle for inspection or other service/repairs that would be the time to add the upgrade brgs

thanks again

mb

Do it when you can.

That's the same thing I was thinking. There has ro be a setting to somehow make them have to prove they are human. Some probably are but still up to no good.

There are things in place, but these guys go under the radar, and sneak in. But not for long when I arrive!!!!

Briggs Flathead / Re: blower on an opposed ?

As long as there is the faintest hint of a Mower in your project, it is not only allowed it is encouraged !!

Unless it has a blower, then not so much.
Only naturally aspirated mower engines here.

If you have a governor, hook the throttle cable to the stock position with the proper return springs attached.
