Righto,

thanks to those who messaged , i have fixed the problem. when i removed the magnet from the old flywheel it was not attached to the plastic case or the steel rounded piece. I must have put it back the wrong way and the polarity was wrong. I changed the polarity of the magnet by turning it around and now i have spark.
good bit of learning about the basics of magnetism.

Briggs Flathead / No spark from Alloy flywheel

Hiya,

I am currently building a 28ci flat head and wanted to put an allow flywheel on it. I got one from a friend that is not an ARC or commercially made  flywheel. I swapped the magnet from the original flywheel onto this alloy flywheel and now i have no spark from the original coil. So i put the original flywheel and magnet back on and i have spark again.  Any suggestions as to why when i swap the flywheel i loose spark?.
