USLMRA Races / DLMRA RESCHEDULES MAY EVENT
« on: April 23, 2008, 10:26:32 pm »
I wanted to let everyone know that we have moved our may 10th race to may 31rst. The reason we moved it was the 10th is Mothers day weekend and we don't want to race that day. The next weekend is not available because there is another race being held that day and after speaking with Bruce K. we both felt it was the right thing to do by keeping our end of the verbal agreement and not put a race in on the same day as them, so we are just standing by our word there. The next weekend is Mobile National Points race, we hope to see all DLMRA Members threre, and so that leaves with the 31 of May and that is when we will race. So now that we have done that enjoy the holiday with your mothers and see you on the 31rst.

USLMRA Races / DLMRA STORMS GEORGIA AGAIN
« on: April 04, 2008, 02:26:04 pm »
Well we had an good time at the Macon, Cherry Blossom Festival. The crowd loved us, all 2500 of them. Yes 2500 people showed up for this race. Even two couples one from Canada, and one from Japan, changed there travel plans to come visit with family so they could see this race. I figure that’s a purity good turn out considering that they only had 50 people show up last year. They want us to come back this Fall and most defiantly next year for the Cherry Blossom Festival. Contracts are already being drawn up. The DLMRA helped raise over $30,000 for the Cox Cable Theater. At the VIP banquet we were treated like real VIP’s. All of the festival sponsors wanted to meet and greet with us. It was our version of the Waldorf Astoria. We are already talking about how to make the race even better. We had only one fender bender the whole race and the DLMRA took care of the racer, by giving him some money to help compensate with repairs. With a few adjustments next year the track will be even safer. Hats off to the crew that set up the track. When we rolled in they were putting the finishing touches on it. The city provided us with a safe track to race on. Next year it will be even safer.

USLMRA Races / 400 SPECTATORS AT FIRST DLMRA EVENT
« on: March 08, 2008, 08:21:59 pm »
WOW What a day, with Fantastic being the only word to describe it. The day started off with the entire fence blown down over night by 40+ MPH winds. When we got there that was the first thing we saw with rain and snow all around us. By 10:30 here come the mowers with 13 total for the day. But we all had a big task ahead of us. "The CROWD" We had over 100 vehicles and 400 spectators to please and we all did a great job, no awesome job. Thanks to all of you who came. With all the storm of racers giving it there all most father, son visitors left to build there new mowers. If 1/10 of the folks who said they were building mowers show up, we will need another track, but BIGGER. All the racers there realy had a good time, and felt like the trip was worth it, they were able to race, fill there bellys for a meer 5.00, where in the state of Georgia, are you going to find that, I will tell you. The track is located in Cochran, Ga. With The Dixie Lawn Mower Racing Association.  Once the race was over we were able to go home and still please the Great State of Georgia, as Channel 13 aired the all new Lawn Mower Episode for the Cherry Blossom Festival in Macon, Ga. On March 29, 2008. This was a great day for the DLMRA. Simply couldn't ask for anything better. GREAT JOB AND CONGRADULATIONS!!!!! To all those involved.

Ok everyone The DLMRA did the Channel 13 WMAZ TV Show today. Special thanks to the camera man because he was cold. Ben Jones loved his first ever lawnmower excursion. W etested the new DLMRA Rookie class with him and he walked away with a smile on his face. Mike Formentini did and awesome job preparing him for his first mower ride and Austin Carver provided him with an IMOW Mower and his father Reggie Carver allowed Ben Jones to ride his mower. So thank you for all the help making this happen. The Shoe will air two times first one being this friday 2/29/08 and 3/8/08 both times are 5PM. We also had the Cochran journal there who did a story as well as the Dublin, Ga. News Paper "The Courier Herald" and will have the links posted as soon as they get emailed to me. This was a media day for us. We also got the commitment from both news papers to do a monthly story on us for all our local chapter events. This was great for the USLMRA as well as for our LC.
