Coffee Shop / Need my motor freshened
« on: December 03, 2014, 05:22:21 pm »
I'm new to this sport. The mower I bought has a 44ci Intek twin. The motor has allot of stuff already done to it. I need to have it freshened up or checked out for the next years season. I live in South Dakota and really don't want to ship it thousands of miles to have it done. I'd like to have this done somewhat close who is a top notch builder of intek's. Thanks, boxcar

Who has or where can I find the ones with the #56 on it?? Does anyone sell these carbs? The class I'm thinking about says in OUR rules that anything can be done to the carb.. Thanks

this carb come off a 31ci B & S motor (16.5 hp). was wondering if it could be used in my racing application. our rules state we cannot do anything to the motor or carb other then drilling out and replacing the jet to run a fuel pump and to remove governor assembly, other then that it's a STOCK motor. everyone tells me you want to run the one with the in the 50's stamped on it. ok here we go, it has a 61 number under the throttle lever and numbers 3210 and 498887 under that. their is also a number under the choke lever, its 4993. their is the letters LMT just above the bowl lip.
so do I have all of you confused yet? if anyone knows, please let me know. otherwise it's going to get tossed in the junk box...
thanks, boxcar

I just bought this racer a couple weeks ago. The work bench is a old wood office desk that I got the idea right here in the coffee shop. I plan on starting to tear her down and revamp a few things on it. Definitely need to rework the steering assembly and spindles. It works, but just don't care for how it's set-up. I'm planning on changing out the tin work and giving her a new paint job. Sure wish I still had my wood burner in my garage yet.

If anyone took some video's of some races, please post. All I've seen on you tube is caution laps.

I actully talked to the engine builder tonight and he recommends Valvaline VR1 20-50. Seems a little heavy to me.

Briggs OHV & Vanguard / 44 Intek exhaust
« on: November 02, 2014, 05:33:28 pm »
Ok, i picked up my first racing mower and it has a 44 intek in it. It has two single pipes coming out of it now and I would like to change over to a two into one exhaust. It has a cheetah cam in it along with some other goodies. I have no idea what size pipe I should use or what size the tail pipe should be after the collector. Can I or could I use the stock pipes off another 44, or is the ID too small? Pictures and sizes would be great to get some ideas. Thanks, boxcar

Briggs OHV & Vanguard / What oil
« on: October 28, 2014, 10:24:12 pm »
I just bought a mower that has a 44 ci intek. It has arc rods, roller rockers etc. Pretty much all the good stuff in her. What kind of oil are you all running in a motor like this?? Also, how much oil do I want to run in it? Or do I just run it at the factory recommend level?? Thanks, boxcar

Coffee Shop / Lincoln welders
« on: September 27, 2014, 05:57:37 pm »
I'm in need of a new portable welder. It needs to be 110 volt as my garage does not have 220. I've been looking at a Lincoln 140c mig welder. Now, buying paint for my trailer, I noticed my local Lowes carries Lincoln welders. They have a 140 pro which says it will weld up to 5/16 inch thick material. They don't have the 140c.
My question is this, whats the difference between the two besides they want 200 more for the 140c. Anyone help me out??

Thanks, boxcar
