Briggs OHV & Vanguard / Re: Coils?
« on: June 07, 2017, 04:39:05 pm »
Heads are far from stock...... :D

I switched the coils to a set of intek coils from a old 40ci. I took it across the lawn and  touched 8,000rpm no problem. I ended up ordering the same number from napa again to see if the coils were any different because napa started carrying primeline. the new coils look way different than the ones I had, even though they are the same part number. (wondering if they were boxed wrong originally)

Briggs OHV & Vanguard / Coils?
« on: June 01, 2017, 04:34:55 pm »
I was wondering where everyone is getting there coils, I bought my set through NAPA (70-1646). I believe they are breaking down at 7400rpm. I am actually using them on my Tecumseh, but we use the same coils as a intek. Thanks

So what is the problem with building a 50ci tecumpseh twin? What is the part that makes them blow up so quick? Are people having the sleeves fall out? Broken rods?

Chassis / Re: wheelbase advantages
« on: January 26, 2015, 09:42:21 pm »
Eric is right, longer can be better, I found the same results as he did, I built a supermod with a 46in long wheelbase and it was awful, rough tracks killed it. I had no control
Longer chassis seem to be better on big tracks ( but I personally haven't had a problem with the longer chassi on small tracks either)

Coffee Shop / Rules question
« on: January 01, 2015, 11:19:49 pm »
For a supermod frame, I'm using murry wide body rails, I know others widen rails to 13in.

My question is can I legally move the rails out to 15 inches, and if I can't why?

It would only move if adjusted by spinning a handle, would be locked in place after movement there for no suspension

It would be similar to a adjustable cart casette, it would allow you to move your right rear up or down so when you corner and all the weight transfers your tire doesn't need to flex to allow all your tread to bite, also it would prevent chain bind when making the adjustment,I'm gonna attempt to build one

I would like to find out weather anyone has attempted it before, if they have I would like to know what universal joint they used

I would assume it would be legal because it would be similar to a adjustable cart cassette, but I could be wrong
