Driveline / Re: 700 Trans 3rd Bearing for Input Shaft Support

I'm sure a lot of racers will find that very informative. Well done!   I started with a horizontal and jackshaft so I never got to experience all the problems with the use of a transmission. Anything to keep parts from moving around or binding up has to help.

Just showing the sequence of what gets built first when starting our chassis. This pic shows the tube inside the frame rails that goes from the front axle to the rear bumper.

This is a chassis we started years ago. Plus just testing to see if I can get pics to work on here. More to come!

Everyday Sherman, mostly doing heads but doing a lot of engines as well working about 12 hrs a day right now. We have a new FXT almost ready to go that I think Zander will be driving, I'm going to drive his machine in supermod at WOO.

Amen!     I started out with karts on dirt a hundred years ago with the old honda G200 in the early to mid 80's, probably showing my age lol    lots of fun!

Briggs Flathead / Re: model 42 cam and ignition advance

If you are looking for more top end power or more usable top end you will want to retard the stock camshaft not advance it and tighten up the valve lash.  I would try to get a hold of a billet flywheel as soon as possible.

Briggs OHV & Vanguard / Re: Rings for a 31CI OHV briggs?

Total seal can make anything you want for rings, even recommend the right material for your cylinders. The price is reasonable compared to most oem parts these day, and they can make them in just a few days.

Hopefully we can get some of that back. Just takes a handful of people to get things rolling again. A lot of us did know each other from this forum long before we met in person at a race somewhere. If we weren't building a mower or racing one we were on here.

I know facebook is one of the things that is helping to kill forums like this one. There is so much information available here. I'm going to try to be on here a little more frequently if I can help anyone out.

Kohler Engines / Re: cv25 power band

If it was mine and the limit was 3650 that's where I would be.  Spin that flywheel as fast as you can, who cares where the torque curve is its only there for a split second there isn't enough load on the engine to make a difference after the first ten feet anyway.
