looking for picture of a simple set up for a newbie stock class. please help a newbie out trying to get a idea. was going to try and use a few stock things off my mower. change over to better spindles and a solid front axle.

« on: March 19, 2020, 09:04:18 pm »Yes it is a flathead and yes it's 28ci. They made 2 versions one splash oiler and one pressure lube. The pressure lube is the most desirable. They do run real well with good flow in the ports and head. Better than the Briggs 28ci. Hope this helps. We used to to a lot of then here in Michigan. I also have some parts left if you are interested.
the fb460v im getting is from 1982 john deere im located in rochester ny
well good im glad the engine is good people. people say the briggs are better. i just got done welding my frame up on my 2013 yt3000 craftmens so next im going to do steering then proplly drive line then engine last. think this legend class will be great for rookies like me that have no clue what were doing.

im getting a 1982 kawaski fb460v for my legend mower. but need some specs first. pretty sure it a flathead but is it 28 cubic inch or no.

if you got it for free and you have a idea how to build it should be fine. and if your only racing it once a year i wouldn't worry to much about the abuse it may take. im building a 2013 yt3000 and i never built one of these things but if you do research will be wicked easy or at least the dots will connect. prolly has a rail chassis so you will want to beef it up by welding angle iron or 3/4 square tubing in the rails. buy youtube has all kinda videos so check em out. mikes big block and fearless and so many more. what ever videos you need lmk i can prolly find something for you im more a visual person myself.

Arma has made the legend class a national class. it pretty much just a flathead class, i am currently building one out of a yt3000 2010-2012 model pick it up cheap 50$. now im not looking for you guys to give away all your tricks. but i want to put a transaxle on it. not sure what one to get. was told that a 820 peerless is to big. but then there guys i know who run 800 seris peerless and have no problems. i would like flip the trans up side down. but was told this will be making a clutch more difficult. going to hop on youtube and look at the clutches but any help with how to make a clutch. what trans axle to use . and how to mount it. but im pretty sure fliping it is best bet because i got a rail chassis and would just be easyier. lmk thank you

what a good transaxle for arma flathead class im a noob looking for soomehing that fast and durable
