Kohler Engines / Kohler command single vs honda gxv???
« on: May 19, 2018, 01:39:31 am »
I am wondering what you guys think would work best. Both will end up costing me about the same when said and done, but the kohler will end up being a lot bigger than the honda, however, it is easier to make the honda a little bigger. I have seen lots of good things bout both so I don't know what to go with. This would be for a cp mower that weighs about 530 with me on it.

Briggs OHV & Vanguard / Forged Pistons for Intek Single
« on: December 17, 2017, 04:19:56 pm »
Does anybody make forged pistons big enough for a model 33. I have been messing around and I have found the a 4.6l big bore piston would work, but I would need to have a custom wrist pin hole put in, or bore out the hole on an arc rod for an .866 wrist pin.

What should a single cylinder Tecumseh 17hp cost for a medium build (Stock bore, pro port and polish, crank balance, milled head, bigger valves, cam, flywheel, and carb work)?

Kohler Engines / Kohler Command single build
« on: August 06, 2017, 08:56:53 pm »
Hi. I was recently looking at kohler build prices just to mess around and I was wondering if I could build a 30-35hp kohler more cost effectively than a briggs. I have a stock 33ci briggs with a flywheel as of now. Midwest super cub is willing to sell me a flywheel for 100 bucks. What would work better. If the kohler would be better, is there anybody who can port and polish a kohler head for a really reasonable price?
