Admin Announcements / Forum Crash Recovered
« on: June 18, 2022, 03:51:27 pm »
We had an extended power outage the other day and the forum software version decided it no longer liked the database version.  I have been sick with Covid and just didn't have the energy to put to this until today, so sorry for the outage.  It does not appear that the database was harmed, so nothing should be missing.  Let me know if you find anything strange.  Also, there may be some features missing that I have to reconstruct but the meat is available.

Coffee Shop / CNC machine I built
« on: February 01, 2017, 04:26:36 pm »
I thought some of you might like to see this.  It is called a "Mostly Printed CNC" because all the plastic parts are 3D printed.  The files needed to print the parts are FREE! The metal rails are plain cheap 3/4" emt conduit.  The electronics can all be bought inexpensively online if you can configure them yourself or for a little extra from the machine's designer. I bought most of my electronics and tool bits from him to support his development efforts.

Here is a video of mine:

Heymow is not responsible for establishing the identity of sellers.
That means it is the buyer's job to evaluate the terms of the sale to protect himself.

You MUST  fill out your profile to sell something here.  If you fail to do so your listing may get deleted.  You may not get any other warning.
This same message is Stickied at the top of every Section of the For Sale Sections,
there is no excuse for missing it.

Here is one way of preparing your ad for a sale or want ad:

Please try to remember that when selling something people need to know the basics.

Detailed description
Where item is located
How much for item
How much for shipping
Contact info for seller

Just try to use some common sense when listing an item for sale and please FILL OUT YOUR PROFILE.
Put atleast your first name in your signature line.

Lastly, please post "SOLD" when the item sells.

Thanks from all potential buyers. :)

And one last reminder.  BUYER BEWARE!!!!  It is not this website's job to protect you from an unscrupulous seller.
Get a solid address, and talk to the person on the phone before you send them money, or give out your information.
We do ban people who do not are found to be fraudulent of ripping off members. But remember, we do not hold
any responsibility for sales gone wrong. Hence the amount of protection we try to incorporate into the site.
The rest is up to you.

Welcome to the forum!  This thread is here so the heymow moderators can introduce themselves to you.  The site would never have become what it has without the help of the moderators, many of whom have been here since day one.

My name is Tom Cole and I started this forum in 2005 to help promote lawn mower racing and the businesses associated with it by helping those involved connect and learn from one another.  I'm the computer guy behind the technical operation of the website.

Briggs Flathead / NEW!!!! Billet Chromolly Model 28 Crank from ARC
« on: December 09, 2010, 11:56:41 am »
After 2 years in the making, we now have a billet crank for the Model 28

Racer Price is $299.95.  We have tried very hard to keep the price down to the racer while also keeping our dealers in mind.  This crank starts out as a 80 58 lb piece of chromolly bar stock and we remove a little more than 70 51 lbs to finish at a slim and trim 9.6 9.5 lbs!

The crank is balanced right out of the box (no more brass counter weights or syncro-anything) and has been designed to clear the most radical Model 28 cam produced by Precision Cams.  It is stock stroke and has the stock journal size, so you DO NOT have to buy a new rod if you already have an ARC 6280 rod.  We will be getting undersized bearings for our 6280 rods, so this crank can be re-ground, giving it a better life-span.

This crank has been designed to fit the model 28 engine's sump cover.  The crank will work in the model 31 as well, but you will have to install a bushing in the model 31 sump cover as was the case with the stock model 28 crank.

The cranks are in production right now and will begin shipping tomorrow 12/10/10.  We should have it on our website shortly. Part number 6562-C
