Coffee Shop / Bert
« on: March 18, 2019, 08:31:24 am »
We lost another great yesterday. Bert had a major heart attack and didn't make it. That's all we know right now. For those who didn't know him he was a pioneer in this sport and a brilliant mind with a great sense of humor.

Coffee Shop / BP's
« on: December 02, 2014, 07:49:37 pm »
Stay with me now. Sometimes I have to much time to think. I drive back and forth to work an hour each way. Sense the BP class is kind of dying off why couldn't you make a FXT chassis and use a BP engine. The engine would not be as open ruled as the FXT class and the chassis would be a lot safer at speed. A natural transition from the prepared style class to the FX style classes. The tires could also be the factor of speed, using lawnmower tires rather than Hoosiers or kart style racing tires. My thinking is you already have money in a engine and tires axle and brakes with all the things that go with running a good horsepower machine. It would be safer and cost less than a FXT, no dual carbs or racing clutches a lot of dyno time. Any thoughts?

Other Engines / flathead coil
« on: July 22, 2014, 08:54:23 pm »
I am attempting to put a ARC wheel on a kawi 460 flathead and realize about the coil. I got the wheel used and only the wheel. does anyone see a problem on redrilling a briggs coil to fit, or am I asking for trouble. I have a mill so straight is not a problem. Any thoughts?  [go ahead and say it ED]

« on: July 02, 2014, 01:42:47 pm »
I was looking at the ARC site and saw the Intek V-Twin flywheel is #6611. My question is , can you change the hub and ring gear and use a single #6611 billet wheel?
