i was tearing down an old snapper i think it was, the guy blew the motor this mower along with the one i am making into the speed wagon, had sat for a couple years at least, the sticker says its a MST 205-538D does anyone know anything about this transaxle ????

i'm hoping its a good one, it should be a direct swap because my existing mower is also a 5 speed

i was gettong my project mower cleaned and pulled my carb off to de grease it and get the varnish off it.  i happened to notice its odd design, and was wondering what kind it is?

i have recently aquired a mtd lawn chief and it has a foote axle in it, currently havent got it into any gear yet, but your post caught my attention, did that fix your problem?  i will be a back yard basher no compatition just for fun, but i was wondering if it helped

i recently aquired a new mower to build, its easier to set up as it has 1 drivebelt vs a split drive system it has a 5 or 6 speed foote 386 ill attatch a photo , my question is can i make a keyway out of a splined differential? that way i have key way on both engine and trans to change gear ratios earier
