Briggs OHV & Vanguard / Re: How far can a 35/38 Vanguard block be bored

That's a fair idea and a lot better in the long run. I was thinking of doing a destroked build and wanted to make back some of the ci so I was wondering how far people have gone.

Okay, thank you for your insight. I haven't actually had my hands on a 35/38 block to have a look but i have *heard* of people running 3.150" however I have never seen it done.

Hello ladies and gents, I was wondering how far a 35/38ci Vanguard could be bored. Now my original thought was get one resleeved and run intek pistons but could I go as far as a 49ci intek piston?

Briggs Flathead / Mods to 28 ci flathead?
« on: June 26, 2021, 08:22:37 am »
Hello there, people of the internet! I just pick up my first spare engine so I'm going to build it up and I come to you guys wondering what so you do to your flatheads? I'm going to source a billet flywheel and hopefully a billet rod for peace of mind and I've been doing some porting and polishing but what else do you guys do?

Briggs OHV & Vanguard / Leaving a vtwin vanguard governed

I was wondering if it would be possible to mildly upgrade a vtwin but leave it governed but adjust it to rev higher oh and are ratio roller rockers a good up grade to wake up a vanguard a bit?

I'm gonna look more into it later to see if I can find something that might work.

Off roading, I don't want to be out on a trail and not be able to get my mower running again, I also have stuff on my mower that draws power such as a DC outlet, lights, volt meter and a couple of other things, I'm just looking for other options other then removing the charging system or running an external system.

So I am wanting to spin my mower faster than stock however I want to keep my stock charging system. If I had enough room I would get a biullet flywheel and an alternator but it's a small Murray with a lack of room so I was wondering is there another way that doesn't risk my manhood?

How are they different? Does the Kohler have the same issues as the Briggs and what are some upgrades that can be done to a Kohler Opposed?

Thank you and one more question, I heard that you can put the gears from mst transaxles and 700 transmissions are interchangable, what is the fastest gear ratio you can get for them?
