I had to work, yes, only causing me to miss Guthrie Center.

I saw you, but you looked very, very busy. Being you. And I figure being larger than life is a full-time occupation, plus I already drank all my beer, plus you decided to leave Saturday night, so there you have my excuse for not introducing myself.

To quote Roadhouse, "I thought you'd be bigger."

 ;)

Ed, he may have been put off by the fat white-haired guy with you.

You know Jeff, being me is not easy. In fact, it's very complicated. But, had I known you were there, I would have made the time for meeting you!

The being up for almost 24 hours at that point, and only getting maybe 3 hours of sleep before that made us decide to head home on Saturday. Then we had to listen to Bert call Squatches, Chupacabra's and a few other assorted mythical creatures..

We hope to get back down there next summer, so maybe I will grow by then.

You know, I should have cut in line and went ahead and said hello. And the white-haired fella was eyeing me rather intensely! 8) Yes, racing is often an exercise in sleep deprivation, and if you can even get 6 hours sleep for the entire weekend, then I'd say you came to watch or your mower's broke.

I'm nothing special, but thanks for wanting to meet. In fact, when I'm around famous people such as yourself, I tend to just stand there laughing at everything they'd say, then hours afterwards I'm suddenly struck with all the cool stuff I WISHED I'd said. Most of the time it's all I can do to not end my sentences with a preposition.

I go to Carlisle whenever I can, so the likelihood of us meeting up soon is quite possible. In fact, I have started venturing Illinois-ward some this year, making the odds even better.

I look forward to spending time with you -- laughing uncontrollably. Might even pee a little.

Jeff, never EVER bring up pee in Ed's presence. Just trust me on that.
