Briggs OHV & Vanguard / Re: Intek twin cylinder blocks

Thanks for your reply.
Will look at increasing torsion strength of frame , and engine base plate .
Originally I thought engine block needed strengthening for extra hp
99% of the time they crack because the base plate is not flat,if the pan rocks at all it stresses the block when bolted down and wil eventualy crack the block,a sure sign of this is the pan bolts loosening up

Hi, just wondering if there are any other options available for valve retainers apart from the EC retainers that are out there.

To suit a 44 Intek twin. I'm also down in Oz.

Cheers, Shane
Comp cams Gp750=2 and Gp759-2,retainers and locks, should also use their Gp965 or Gp966 springs too.

Had no idea these blocks could be taken out that far, if at all. Is there enough meat?
In order to go to 31ci bore(3.5625") youll have to sleeve the block.

I,doubt it ,Ron hasnt been active in over 5 years.
FYI a Mikuni SBN38 is a diaphram carb with H and L adjustments similar to a tilliotson carb

Briggs Flathead / Re: opposed twin briggs engine crank differences

40ci crank 2.19" stroke
42ci crank 2.28" stroke
46ci crank 2.46" stroke
All cranks will interchange, except 46ci crank will need clearancing of block to fit in blocks other than std bore 46 block.
