10 HP Briggs timing issue
« on: February 20, 2009, 11:30:35 pm »
Like a dumba$$ I did not look at the timing marks inside the engine when I removed the pan this evening.   I think I know where they should be set mark on the cam shaft gear and mark on the valve gear in my mind should line up when you start putting it back together.   When I align the timing marks it seems the timing is off when I rotate the crank shaft.   can anyone email me the correct position of the timing marks.

I also need to know Torque on the bolts for the pan and head.   :bash:

Thanks

Joe

Thanks I was attempting to set it at TDC top dead center not on the exhaust stroke.

Yes it does help.
