This is the top view

I was on a Massey Ferguson that was tucked away in a shed.  It seems to be a vertical drive transmission.  Its a 3 speed with reverse.

Are they any good?  Do you know of any history on them?  Do racers use them?

Most racers run Vertical shaft motor, that transaxle has a horizontal input, therefore I don't think you're going to find it being a real popular item on the race track. If you have a horizontal shaft motor to go with it, it might be ok, but racing parts for horizontal shaft motors are probably going to be a little tough to come by.

No good for racing way to heavy and the input as Rocky said is incorrect for most applications.
