B/P Ground Clearance Rule ?
« on: October 12, 2008, 01:35:02 pm »
I'm building a  B/P and I have read over the 2009 rules and could not find any statement about ride height , or minimum ground clearance. I know it used to be 4" inches , does this still apply or is it open to the builder ?

Since you did not specify whom you are building for I can only speak for ARMA and it's 4".

Pleaase correct me if I am wrong, But he said he is building a B/P.
Wouldn't that make it a USLMRA mowchine?

Yes it would.
Only USLMRA runs a B/P class.

Not a problem, glad to help... occasionally some of that stuff sneaks into play in several areas of the rules. Ground clearance is constant across all classes, so it's a general mower requirement. Wheelbase, on the other hand, varies amongst the classes, so that would be covered in the class specs. Or, in some cases of this nature, it may be covered in general requirements, then amended in class specs.

One just needs to remember both sections are there to giude you, and both sections do contain specs for your mower. If you don't find it in the specs for your class, be sure to look at General Requirements as well, if it's common amongst several classes, it'll be hiding in there. (o;?

No not really generally but that in itself doesn't classify it as a US machine. My purple one I have at times referred to it as a BP but it isn't a US class legal machine.
