I run an 18hp briggs opposed twin. Our rules mandate that we be governed to 3850rpm. I run dual 3" pipes. :D

It sounds really nice.. I ended up running a 3 inch pipe on my opposed Kohler last year because of how Gary's sounded like

Opposed make a nice deep sound with good exhaust

The digitron said 999 on the recall that night, so it was very close to 10,000rpm. I had a lot more engine there than I did in Tn, that was the best I had at the time not including the big Nitro Twin. Come to think of it............thats all the digitron goes to, its an older model it only reads three digits :D So I guess I don't know how high it was going. I had to pedal it down the back straightaway on the horse track, it was extremely slippery. An exhaust seat fell out and broke, we worked on it most of the night and had it ready to race a big event the next day.

That was an original valve seat that fell out-we had only put in bigger intake seats-after that happened we put in larger exhaust seats too-none fell out in TN

The traction was really good in Tn so controlling the rpm wasn't a problem.
