RPM's on opposed twins
Post by HotRodLawnTractor on May 13, 2005, 1:47am

What is the max RPM these things reach during a typical race situation? I need to know so I can order the right bearings for my jackshaft so they don't seize up... or worse. Thanks.

Most race engines operate in the 2300 to 6000 rpm range.

George, Can you put 18hp opposed heads on a 20 hp opposed to increase compression and if so, is it worth the it.

Yes you can but I believe the heads are the same. One would have to fill the head with water and measure it's capacity to see if there was actually any difference.
