That doesn?t sound right, but you can get a steel ring gear from EC, maybe the previous owner had them stacked?

Yah they are on top of each other looks like one is steel and one is aluminum it has a stock starter which I need to upgrade to the high torque starter I was thinking maybe that?s why they stacked it is to get the stock starter to engage correctly I?m not sure if that could be a possibility I got the whole set up used and the person I got it from was not the one who built everything

I am also curious about gearing my set up has a jack shaft to make it chain driven do any of you run this set up I?m just curious what a good gearing set up is I have a 47 tooth rear sprocket and I believe a 12 tooth front sprocket just trying to see if that?s a good gear ratio I wish I could post pics here because I am curious if this thing is set up to be a mower racer or what it was intended to be I have never been to the track with it but it was raced on a dirt track originally from what I?ve been told

I also have another question for you guys whoever owned the motor before me had the coils touching the arc fly wheel and it made some marks on it when I noticed it I moved the coils to the correct position my question is will that effect the fly wheel I don?t want to spend 300 on a new one if this one will be ok to run
