44 intek hard starting

Hey guys buddy of mine has a built vtwin, billet wheel set full neg ,  really good honed block , stock pistons with new rings , arc rods, precision cheetah cam, 49 heads milled 110 , ec roller rockers, dual springs with stock push rods, , valves are set at .003, cam is installed  straight up , yes it has the hi torque starter a good battery, when he goes to whirl it over it it keeps jamming up on the compression stroke , any ideas, need a bigger batter , weak starter , internal issues , anyone run into this before or have any further ideas? Thanks I’m sure it’s been covered before just covering all my bases , cheers

Did you the clearance on the valve retainers to the valve guides?   I bet you are bottoming out the retainers out on the guides.   Check your push rods.  They will be bent if this is the case.

I made this mistake.  That cam has a lot of lift!

I,d make sure you have a know good battery, good battery cables (i use 2 gauge) ,if those are good points to the starter then.

Good point both Paul’s lol, yes battery is good, cables are being swapped out ( had stock ones on) I’ll mention about the valve guide clearance! Yes to my knowledge flywheel key is good, I’ll make a point to check all those things off our list, thanks fellas!
