6 in rear wheels give less rotating mass, and gearing is different.  I have ran both in the FXT, and prefer the 6" in the rear.  I feel they also have less side wall flex.

Hope this helps.  It was great to meet you this past weekend.

Yes it was good to see you to Doc. I was watching the fxs/t classes and it looks to me in the single class you would benefit from the smaller tire, mostly because it looks like it would take less power to turn. The twin class I can see needing the big tire just because they have way to much power anyway and they would hook up better.

Might build a fxs this winter so I'm just trying to figure out what I want to do. I'm leaning to the smaller tires.

If I were building an FXS I'd use the 6" tires.

Although I may know of a real nice one that may be for sale.  Think it needs some engine work.  It has the 8" rear tires though.  This one works well with them though.  It flies!   I can't pass him on my FXT if he gets in front of me.

I can get you his contact info if your interested.

It was good to finally meet you in person!!!!

Yea it was great to meet you to Paul!

I'm thinking 6in as well.

Not sure about buying one for now. I enjoy the build, just got to get everything figured out, I'm outta the loop on those classes.

Don't build till you see more chassis.

Build a horizontal.   You will tank me in the long run....

This guy may sell the engine.   That is what needs work.   It is super nasty.  You can pick it up at finals.....:

Yea I will use a horizontal, probably a clone, unless I can get a certain someone to fill me in on how to make a "sidewinder" work.....

And yes I should be at finals.

Chassis chassis and chassis again. If you have a properly setup chassis then 6" is the way to go in my opinion. Thats coming frome someone who has run both. Plus you can afford to have more sets of 6" vs 8" price wise

Kohler single....60 HP.   I know a guy.

The 2 examples you gave are OK.  But not 60 HP.
