I keep burning up solenoids no matter how they are wired. What gives?

are you using a stock or hi torque starter?

Poulan, PB1842LT with a Briggs 18.5, 31N7070026G1. As far as I know its a stock starter. I burnt 3 universal 4 pole solenoids along with the stock one

I had the exact same problem. Switched to a hi torqu starter, haven't had a problem since

So you're saying the starter is burning up the soleniod?

Got it figured out. It was a bad wire so I rewired the whole thing and now its good
