Better corner speeds with stock tranny

Hey guys I will be running an older model (murray) chasis with a 16 hp tecumseh this year. I just bought this tractor and it has a stock transmission which the previous owner was having issues with getting beat on corners. It's still a one wheel wonder his weld broke. Now my question is if I slide a straight axle through the stock differential will that help me get out of the corners. To at least be close to the guys that run  with kart axles and 700 peerless tranys

Cornering is all about weight distribution.  This has been discussed here many times. Snoop around especially in the older posts and look at some of the build's that have been done.

It is a transaxle. But I would like to get a solid axle made for it and keyed ends to slide into the transaxle

Instead of having a hobart locker that would probably break mid race on me I would have more of a solid rear end

Just weld the transaxle.( Locking a transaxle with fearlessfront) on YouTube shows a good video how to do it. I'm not good with links so just go to YouTube . I used to run transaxles and did the same thing as him and never broke the welds. One tire fire is not going to help with cornering. Also make sure front left tire is pre-loading.

Alright thanks guys. Now would it be worth the time and effort to lower the rear end down and run a jack shaft or should I just leave it raised in the back I've been told that it's a lot of work and I would lose power.

Or if anyone has a peerless 700 transmission cheapish I would go that route
