44 Intek exhaust
« on: November 02, 2014, 05:33:28 pm »
Ok, i picked up my first racing mower and it has a 44 intek in it. It has two single pipes coming out of it now and I would like to change over to a two into one exhaust. It has a cheetah cam in it along with some other goodies. I have no idea what size pipe I should use or what size the tail pipe should be after the collector. Can I or could I use the stock pipes off another 44, or is the ID too small? Pictures and sizes would be great to get some ideas. Thanks, boxcar

I used stock exhaust right off head. Went to 1 1/4" after about 6" or so, Then into 2 1/4" tail pipe which we flattened  for clearance. I will get you some pics later. Sounds awesome on mine & I am also running cheetah cam. There is really no right or wrong. different engine act different with same exhaust.

We run 1 1/8 inside diameter pipe for our exhausts. Not pretty but used old school desks to build them (all mandrel bent heavy wall piping).
