490 ohv rod
« on: September 12, 2014, 05:58:46 pm »
I know this is a speculative question, but what would the upper rpm limit be for an oem rod in a ohv 490? I suppose I should ask the same question for the piston as well.

Rod, not too much over stock. Piston will take whatever you throw at it.

Yes, a stock twin rod. Didn't know if they were any better than the rod in a single.

Twin and 490 rods are the same except the twin uses a smaller wrist pin.

Ok, didn't know if it was the same casting with a smaller wrist pin, or possibly heavier.  Thanks Bert
