kawasaki performance parts
« on: June 19, 2014, 11:55:31 am »
Hey guys, new to the forum.  I recently bought a Kawasaki FX 1000v and I’m looking to max its potential.  I don’t race mowers, but the application I’m using it for demands power.  I’m currently running a 36 Briggs vanguard, with decked heads, 1 piece SS valves, high rev valve springs, HSR42 Mikuni carb, Custom cam grind and custom exhaust turning about 5000 rpms.  I like the design of this block a little better, and with the hemi heads and 6 valve setup, it appears to have potential.  So I’m looking to do something similar with this block (heads, cam exhaust and carb)  Any help in who to contact, or who offers performance parts would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

I guess kinda scared of the stock connecting rods and push rods. All internals are stock other than the cam. Pulls very hard and continues to pull pass 5000, I just don't turn it up that high on long runs. I have the heads being ported and the valve guides being cut down now. Ported the Kawi intake. The hemi heads on the 37 appear to flow great. Now just trying to get a cam for it. The only reason I'm swapping is I really like the design of the 37 block compared to the briggs block. I have fought sump leaks at the oil ports on my 36 vanguard for a while now. I have tried all sort of things, even a torquing sequence with other special stuff. After I run it around 5000, she starts weeping again in the same spot, at the oil ports part of the block. The Kawi block is a one piece block with the case gasket at the top. The gasket isn't at the bottom trying to hold back an oil level. Gonna give it a try, was just looking for some pointers on stuff.

I would be willing to bet that Tim Isky can grind a cam for you. You would be best off to call and speak with him about your needs and can formulate a grind from there.

I had gotten with precision cams but they needed my head specs first. Soon as there done, I'll be looking for one for some low end grunt.
