such a small engine you'll see minimal gains,and wont notice much difference while starting. shaving the head is just a simple start that will get you going. You can't expect to gain huge amounts of horsepower,because theres not a huge amount of displacement/horsepower to begin with. its all about percentages in a sense, if you were to shave the heads on your 350 chevy you might gain 20 hp or better(just an example dont slap me people). but you wont see the same increase consistently. im sure there are ways of accurately measuring such increases,but i dont have the time/patience to work on such things, and you also have to consider that a older tired out engine isnt going to see the same gains that a new one might. i think the main thing with this project will be to get it reliable, with ample power to have fun on.
