STA-BIL Series Racing at Charlotte Motor Speedway
« on: March 08, 2013, 10:25:08 pm »
We are thrilled to announce we’ll be bringing STA-BIL Series Lawn Mower Racing to the Charlotte Motor Speedway this April 6th & 7th as part of the World’s Largest Automotive Extravaganza, the Food Lion AutoFair! Two days of dirt track racing on lawn mowers in the Speedway.

For Details go the Link:  http://www.letsmow.com/event/sta-bil-series-racing-at-charlotte-motor-speedway
Before everyone call me and ask all the crazy questions let me say this first..
Yes this is a USLMRA National Points Race not a OPEN Race.. so you have to have USLMRA Membership.. It is simple, go to LETSMOW.com membership and join. We will be taking memberships at the track, but they are $5 cheaper online.

You “MUST” read the USLMRA Rule Book because all rules inside applies. So you MUST have Billet Flywheels to get through tech.. We do NOT Run 6” wheels on the rear of B/P’s our Licensing process is in effect so to run B/P’s, F/X’s and F/XT you must have the qualifications according to the process.

This will be the Biggest Spectator and Media event ever done by our organization and potential any lawnmower organization. We want all who want to come and join in to do so.. JUST Understand the RULES.. This is Charlotte Motor Speedway.. And it is going to be GREAT..

We will be racing on Dirt as they are hauling in dirt to the Modified Garage Area and building a track on top of the Asphalt Parking area. Pit Stalls will be limited so be prepared to off-load you mowers and equipment and we will park outside in a area with shuttle service.. Tents will need to have Sand Bag or some type of weights to hold them in place.. No Spikes in the Asphalt.

More info to follow…..

Here is a Track Updated for the April 6 & 7 Charlotte Motor Speedway AutoFair.. We are going to move the track from the Infield Modified Garage area to the 5th Mile Track in the rear Gated area of the speedway between the Main Entrance Tunnels, gates 25 and 26. This will save us from bringing in all the dirt and trying to make an unknown surface work for such a LARGE event. This will also give us an area for staging trailers and tents in the Pits. The Charlotte Dirt Track Crew will be cutting the infield in there for what could be a Permanent Lawn Mower Racing Track. This will be a 185 to 190 ft straight-a-way, 35 ft wide flat track setup with 80 ft across the infield apex. This is an Oval with no Chicane.

This move will also increase the ability to increase the Seating Capacity, as the other location was limited for where we could place bleachers. The schedule should remain the same so we can work with the other events that are going on.

I am reading correctly on the links above that we can bring our stuff Friday evening? Also, I know I will have to get a US membership but do the racers have to pay admission to the Auto Fair to come race?

Greetings Race Fans;
With this weekend’s USLMRA Race event at Charlotte Motor Speedway coming up I feel that everyone needs to understand that with this being one of the most significant events the USLMRA has had in recent years that those planning to attend understand that their race mowers must comply with the 2013 USLMRA Rule Book.

As in past events we have taken the stance that we do everything possible to allow all racers to take part in racing events for that day, however with the large number of racers expected and the tight schedule we will be required to follow it is imperative that all mowers are  to the USLMRA standard.  Remember this is not a USLMRA US Open Event, it is a US National Points races and we must ensure that all mowers are to USLMRA Standard.

The past several weeks the USLMRA staff has received numerous e-mails and phone calls from racers throughout the southeast questioning whether their mowers will be allowed to race and inquiring about different classes being run,  Bottom line here is that everything needed to know is outlined in the rule book and can be downloaded at http://www.letsmow.com/rules-tech/offical-rules/  this is also posted on heymow.com  and  Letsmow.com.
This is not intended to discourage anyone from attending, but to encourage all to download the USLMRA Rule Book and read it and then if any questions arise then call USLMRA for clarification of the rules.

Again we will do everything possible to allow everyone to race but Drivers must also do their part in ensuring their mowers are prepared for inspection to USLMRA Standard.

      We look forward to seeing you this weekend, have a safe journey!
