Is this good?

I'm thinking about doing my clutch somwhere along the lines of this...

Ignore the crappy job, i suck with computers  :doh:



Will this work  good, if not, how can i make this better

I think your spring is going to be in the way or interfere with the belt as it goes back to tranny...

Try to move spring to "outside" the belt loop...

if thats a craftsmen y didnt you kepe the stock clutch. they work awsome ares is the stock clutch wit a belt 3 inchs to big and it still pulls front tires off the ground

Becuase It will not work with a 8 inch pulley on the front  ;) Besides this will be way better any way

So if i move the spring to the outside of the belt loop, would this be a good setup? will it grab hard?

What are you asking...??

If you build a two pulley twist clutch set up...AND...get the slack and leverage right it will operate smoothly...

It "looks" reasonable from the picture, ...your on the right track...but you will have "some" tweaking to do to it (especially if this is your first one)...

Suggest drilling a couple holes in bar for hinge point adjustmen and having a couple different size pulleys (or belts) available to "fine tune" the action once you get it built and installed...

You may also have to experiment with a couple different spring sizes and strengths...as well as playing with pedal length and leverage...
