Ok, so building our diesel puller. The engine is over top of the front axle and going to guess there's 450-550 lbs sitting on the front tires. The goal with this tractor is for the front end to not be on the ground. Most likely it will get slammed a lot. What would be the strongest for spindle and hoe to mount to the axle. Also trying to keep as light as possible.

Have your local machinist make you one out of 4140 steel or better. I wouldn't have any part of it welded. Or you could use A-2 tool steel and the heat treat it to be pretty thought. Don't make it too hard it will shatter.
