Question about a wheel horse

I have found a wheel horse that has a 8 hp kohler (original) with a 4 speed transmission I was wanting to know if this would make a good puller or not? we have alway had the three speed or 8 speed transaxles we pull with 8 hp up to 12 hp no gov.

Wheel Horse 4 speed is basically the same as the 3 speed. At one point they started calling them a 4 speed. Both are 3 forward and 1 reverse gears.
You really need to look at the specific model.
How many pinioned are in it? And 1" or 1 1/8" axles.
