timing question

hey guys this is going to sound crazy but how can a check my timing on my flatty without a timing light i do it with a timing light at home on the road to a friends and forgot the stuff at home to set the timing on his engine any suggestions

you can't know without a light.
Put the key in it and set it at full negative...after that it is all experimental!
for more info than that we'd need to know something about the engine.
