And yes, lol...I call it my theme song...when it comes on at work, everyone knows to turn it up and shut up!
I have thought about mounting an MP3 player and speakers on my mower, lol!

The song was actually refers to machine gunners in Vietnam. The average lifespan of a marine gunner was less than 3 seconds in a fire fight in the vietnam war. The tracer rounds spraying from a machine gun at night leave a luminescent "Rooster Tail". The automatic weapons are always the first target in a fire fight.
One of the band members fathers was a machine gunner in Vietnam if I remember the story correctly.

Do you know why I am called Rooster...because just like a crowing Rooster, I have no idea why I do the things I do, I just know I am supposed to do them, so I do.

JERRY CANTRELL'S DAD IS WHO THE SONG WAS WRITEN FOR. VERY TALENTED GUITAR PLAYER, SONG WRITER AND SINGER. THE GROUP IS ALICE IN CHAINS, GOOD TUNE. SO WHAT CAME FIRST THE ROOSTER OR THE SONG? LOL
