I can use a bridgeport  but it don't have a read out.  So i have to do it the old fashion way.    Lay it out and pick up with my marks with a tap with a point.

ill probably just get them both from BMI to save on shipping. its going to be used for a jackshaft and it has to be 1".

Anyone have any reasons why a normal steel one wont be enough, it will be about 20" long max? power plant will be a built honda gx390

A regular tube stel jack shaft will be fine. Just use 2 support bearings, one close to each end.

If there is room   you couldn't hurt it by adding a third support

Or if your sprocket is on one end of it, shorten the jackshaft and adapt the bracketry. I personally don't see an ohv single making the torque to require the third bearing. Most guys only use 2 bearings on an 1 1/4 axle and it supports the whole mower!!!

I have a 1" steel shaft in my FX for a jackshaft.  Running 1" pillow block bearings and had the ends turn down to 3/4".  Never had a problem in 3 years.

Running a 28 briggs OHV that isn't...........well Stock!

I wouldn't use anything exotic that way if you ever do have problems parts are easy to obtain.  But you won't.

And I only run 2 bearings, no need for a 3rd.
