NEW!!!! Billet Chromolly Model 28 Crank from ARC
« on: December 09, 2010, 11:56:41 am »
After 2 years in the making, we now have a billet crank for the Model 28

Racer Price is $299.95.  We have tried very hard to keep the price down to the racer while also keeping our dealers in mind.  This crank starts out as a 80 58 lb piece of chromolly bar stock and we remove a little more than 70 51 lbs to finish at a slim and trim 9.6 9.5 lbs!

The crank is balanced right out of the box (no more brass counter weights or syncro-anything) and has been designed to clear the most radical Model 28 cam produced by Precision Cams.  It is stock stroke and has the stock journal size, so you DO NOT have to buy a new rod if you already have an ARC 6280 rod.  We will be getting undersized bearings for our 6280 rods, so this crank can be re-ground, giving it a better life-span.

This crank has been designed to fit the model 28 engine's sump cover.  The crank will work in the model 31 as well, but you will have to install a bushing in the model 31 sump cover as was the case with the stock model 28 crank.

The cranks are in production right now and will begin shipping tomorrow 12/10/10.  We should have it on our website shortly. Part number 6562-C

Wow, that sure is some purdy chromoly, And that's quite low price for something as radical as it is.

Looks awesome as always.

Stock stroke and balanced with the AVS piston used with the 6280 rod.

What would using this crank with the 31 or 33 piston do to the balance?

What would using this crank with the 31 or 33 piston do to the balance?

It was balanced with the 28 piston, which is heavier than the 31 and 33.  Randy said the difference is minimal and you won't be able to tell the difference.

Woohoo.     I'm running a model 31 with a model 31 rod.  Will there be a chance of it coming in the larger journal in the future?  If not I'll just buy another rod.
