It's been done for some months. I took it to the races and broke something in the tranny during hot laps, but it handled like it was supposed to. Went where I aimed it, and stuck to the track, even in the wetter spot, that others called slick.

Thanks George. There was alot of effort to get this done.
After having trouble with the tranny, an EC tranny needs to go in over the winter.
The next build will be easier, and I  know better how to prepare for steps, as to not keep licking over my calf.

I am doing great. I went to California and got all hitched up on August 1st. No, I didn't get a "Hitchhiker" motor for my mower, I got married. That is why I have not raced my mower this season, til the last race. I been trying to get loose ends tied up here in Texas, and going out there to stay til the end of the school year. I have her support on whatever I want to do, and race mowers is one thing she likes.

I took me a hiatus from the site for some time to gather my thoughts and reassert my priorities.
This has given me a new outlook on all things, and a more practical goal to reach.
I had alot of health issues that have turned the corner, and are headed uphill now.

One thing I learned about doing this mower, until you actually put one together, you do not know
how much preparation it takes to get one built. I do know one thing, the next one will go smoother,
be more square, and cosmetically better as well. Sound engineering just doesn't happen by accident.

Any improvements I will post at a later date. It is time to get a cam and work the heads.
I wanted to plan on an Indian, but will just stick with the 16 HP Vanny's I have, I have 2.

Good to see you dude!! Mowchine is lookin sweet too!

Thanks man, I preeshate it.

I figured I'd let you tell everyone you went and got hitched! Just waitin to see how long it took. Give Lucy a hug for us all... hmmm... that'll be 1735 hugs according to present member stats, so you better get busy bud!!

Where abouts you guys at in California Marc? You find a mower race nearby yet, or you still looking? Not sure if I'll make it out there in March again, but I might. And, if you're close I just might have to track you down.

I am storing all my goodies, and taking off for California again. I will be in Fontana, 60 miles east of Los Angeles. It's a long ways from Potter Valley, unless there is another chapter out there that I do not know of. If you go out there, crate up your mower.

Actually there has been another group inquiring in Southern California Marc. Not sure where exactly they're at, but I believe they're on the board here. If not I may have an e-mail address I can forward you so you can get in touch and find out where they're at.

As for where I head when out there... about half way up there to Potter Valley! Stay just outside the little town of Coalinga, in a little roadside village, have 3 - 4 motels there, 4 - 5 fast food joints, couple convenience stores. Google makes it about 250 miles up there. We do however run down to Bakersfield and cut across to Barstow, (Yeah I know, sounds weird to go south to go north, but the route was only 30 miles further that way and much better roads!!), wherein we'd only be about an hour away at Barstow.

Dragging the mower is kinda out of the question, headed south in a few days, and I'd fly from Jacksonville to Bismarck, then drive from ND out there. Mowers going south with me when I leave.
