I need help????
« on: April 26, 2010, 05:42:16 pm »
I was working on my grandmas yard cutter, it had a leak on the carb bowl and I fixed it...but I fired it up for the second time and gas came out of the muffler, and was smoking like crazy... Any idea what's going with it???
Forgot to say it's a briggs 12.5 hp flathead and 100% stock

The bowl leak was probably from the seat not seating and it filling the bowl up the leak was the first indication. Now its still doing it but now its running into the block and filling it up with gas. Fix the needle and seat and change the oil.

If its a brass seat and the needle has a rubber tip you don't use the o-ring (runner seat) If your old needle has the rubber tip the one you have may nopt work. Make sure the needle that came out is the same as the new..
