Hi Guys,

Just wondered if anyone has seen or used agearbox like this one.

It Has 2 forward gears and a reverse with a clutch pack on the side. It come out of a mower called a tru test rida cut.

Did you have this type over there. I am thinking of using this in a new race mower i am about to build.

Cheers

WOW.. I have never but I would be interested in seeing it opened up to see how strong it might be.

I love the way the back wheels are attached.. kinda like and old race car spin on center. Very 60's. Are those rims Aluminum?

Any idea where the sprocket on the clutch would send power too?

Forest Gump would love that mower.. :D

Hi guys,

I have stripped the gearbox and discovered that it is an Albion HR1. 3 speed gearbox with external dry plate clutch. I will post some pics in the next couple of days.

Ok, I managed to pull apart the gearbox from the old rida cut and this is what i found.

This show the internals with the gearsets, it has 3 gears and reverse.

Good size bearing for the main shaft

Clutch packs need a little work.

Looks like this may be a way to go with the new build once i have rebuilt i will see if it will fit into the chassis.

Cheers

How are the gear engaged on the shaft.. is it by shifter keys?

For the clutch disc.. you should visit Bully Clutches and see what the size of their clutch disc are.. or E-mail Ryan Kerr ( Fordman 21) and ask him the measurement of his clutch disc on his Bully clutches. You might luck out and something out there already might work.
