hmm that's weird. He got a new blank from them.

Not for an INTEK...
I've talked with mike at precision cams and he HIGHLY recommended using the early model 40 cam (solid cast cam) and yes he will grind the ends down to the .500 in from the .625. Don also regrinds the older cams but they are not easy to find. I'm just giving my experience. I think half the problem with the lightweight cams breaking is excessive valve spring pressure and added valve train weight. Heavier pushrods, heavier rockers and bigger lifts result in the need for stiffer springs which in turn create additional stress on the cam. I use don's single springs and retainers. They hold up well, haven't had any valve float and they have less seat and open pressure than the dual spring set up.

The brand new motors are now coming with cast cams again and are 1/2 ends... I believe when you order a new cam now they send the cast. I havn't tried it but a customer has and he got a cast cam.It isn't a blank. A blank has round unground lobes. And Mioke only has them for a vanny.

Hmmm. Interesting. I'm wondering if thy are doing the same for the 31/33 singles? Those things ate cam lobes faster than they drank gas.

I knew I wasn't crazy. Here's an email I sent to Mike at Precision:

I don't have those cam blanks in stock very often when I talked to your brother I had one, and I still have one in stock.  Let me know if you want it soon because I only have one.

Thanks,
Mike Edwards

AMR-5080      Im not trying to start an argument i just know when i called him he said he never had a blank for intek v-twin because nobody makes them and that was yesterday.Perhaps he had a used cam or somebody sent one to get ground and never picked it up. Ive been trying to find  used cam's for awhile and finally found two of them. Iim sending one to mike on monday i wish he had a blank with no core charge i would have had one a long time ago.I just paid $20.00 for each.
