2 tooth spider gears
« on: August 19, 2009, 12:24:30 pm »
I saw someone had 2 tooth spider gears to use in transaxles, instead of welding gears - but can not find it now - anyone know where to find?
thanks

i havent heard of a 2 tooth spider gear but, what i did was to put a second set of spider gears in the open spots of the carrier and that is what locks mine up. it also adds a little forgiveness incase you need to drive on asphault and turn.

If you build it, it should fly.

All you have to do is weld the teeth shut on the gears you have. Weld like three on one side of gear and four on the other side. Put the gears back in with the three welded shut on the top and the four on the bottom. This will lock the transaxle and the axles still move freely. And if you need to replace parts it still come apart.
